🐾 High school graduations are always emotional, for the graduates, their teachers and their families. And when your brother or sister is also on that stage with you as you receive your diploma, well, that’s even more special.

On June 4, 16 sets of twins graduated from Upper St. Clair High School. No one’s sure if it’s a record, but it’s the most that anyone can remember. 🎓

🐾 Fourth grade students at Streams Elementary presented their International Baccalaureate (IB) Inquiry Exhibition and Action Day projects on Thursday, May 28, culminating months of research, collaboration, reflection and meaningful community action.

As the capstone experience of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Inquiry Exhibition challenges students to investigate real-world issues, develop a deeper understanding of their chosen topics and take action based on their learning. 🙌

🐾 The Upper St. Clair School District has appointed two experienced educational leaders to principal positions, promoting Dr. Cara Senger to principal of Upper St. Clair High School and Dr. Dan Beck to principal of Fort Couch Middle School.

Both administrators have served in leadership roles as assistant principals at Upper St. Clair High School and will assume their new positions effective July 1, 2026. 🙌

🐾 The Streams Elementary School community raised $2,165.29 and collected several hundred books to benefit the Marine Toys for Tots Literacy Program through its annual Children for Children service initiative.

Now in its 22nd year, the Children for Children program encourages students to learn about the needs of others while making a meaningful difference in their communities and beyond. 🙌

🐾 Members of the Hope for Ghana Club at Upper St. Clair High School are celebrating a major milestone after helping fund the construction of a clean water well in the community of Dekpevie, Ghana.

Led by rising seniors Olivia Mamakos and Augusta Bottonari, the student organization exceeded its fundraising goal during the 2025-26 school year, raising nearly $10,000 to support clean water initiatives in Ghana. 🙌

🐾 Five members of the 2025-26 USCHS Speech & Debate Team have earned Academic All American recognition from the National Speech & Debate Association, one of the organization's highest honors.

Recognized for their outstanding achievements were rising seniors Harshini Sivakumar, Finn Stafford and Pari Varshney, along with 2026 graduates Devesh Jani and Jeffery Zhang. 🙌

🐾 An Upper St. Clair fifth grader has earned first-place honors in the 2026 WQED Writers Contest. Lipi Kairi, a student at Boyce Middle School, was named the Grade 5 winner for her original story, “The Magic Soul.” Her entry was selected from stories submitted by students throughout the Pittsburgh region. 🙌

🐾 The Upper St. Clair School District proudly recognized 24 retiring faculty and staff members during its annual end-of-year retiree celebration on June 8, 2026, at Upper St. Clair High School.

Together, the retirees represent an extraordinary 546 years of service to the Upper St. Clair community, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students, families and colleagues. 🙌
