On Saturday, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Emergency Services Team (EST)!
Established in 1976, EST was created to provide a highly-trained and capable response to the most complex and dangerous situations faced by our officers and the citizens of Prince George’s County. Fifty years later, that mission remains unchanged.
For five decades, generations of EST members have built a legacy defined by professionalism, courage, discipline, teamwork, and respect. While the equipment, capabilities, and tactics have evolved, the commitment to protecting our community and our fellow officers has remained constant.
The PGPD honors every past and present member who has contributed to the legacy of EST, as well as the families, command staff, and support personnel whose sacrifices and dedication have helped make this unit what it is today.
