We appreciate the patience, support, and understanding of our ULUSD community as we work to safely reopen our schools.

ULUSD will remain closed on Wednesday, September 16. Over the past two days, West Coast Fire & Water, Indoor Environmental Services, Air Environmental, and our Maintenance & Operations team have worked tirelessly to clean ash and prepare our four school campuses, District Office, and Wellness Center for a safe return.

These photos capture just a small portion of the incredible work taking place behind the scenes.

We expect to have an update by Wednesday evening regarding reopening on Thursday, September 17.

Thank you for standing with us as we continue to put the health and safety of our students and staff first. It truly takes a village.

Upper Lake Schools Closed 9/11/2026

Out of an abundance of caution, and after consultation with emergency services, the District has decided that the safest route to protecting the students is to close the schools for Friday, September 11, 2026. We will continue to provide updates if the matter continues into Monday.

ULUSD in fire warning zone 9/10/2026

ULUSD Update: District facilities are in a fire warning zone. School status for tomorrow is pending. A final decision will be sent to all families by 6:15 AM. The evacuation point for families in evacuation zones is the Lake County Fairgrounds for people and livestock. Stay safe!

The Power of Teamwork: Mr. Keck & Ms. Liz

Mr. Keck (PE Teacher) and Ms. Liz (Instructional Aide) are a great example of the power of teamwork in our Middle School PE program.

They collaborate seamlessly to make sure the needs of every PE student are met.

From managing lockers, washing clothes, and ensuring students are dressed out, to providing supervision and support, they do whatever is needed to keep class running smoothly.

They divide responsibilities—Ms. Liz supporting the girls locker room and Mr. Keck the boys locker room, while always stepping in to support each other when needed.

Their communication, flexibility, and commitment to students make them a strong team and a valuable part of our middle school community.

Thank you, Mr Keck and Ms. Liz, for your focus and for showing us all the power of true teamwork!
