Believe in UA

Believe in UA Believe in UA was established in support of the 4 Upper Arlington City Council members facing recall We urge you to vote NO on recall.

We are residents and businesses in Upper Arlington who support the four City Council members (John Adams, David DeCapua, Kip Greenhill, and Debbie Johnson) facing a recall election and we urge all of our neighbors to vote NO on recall. We believe that Upper Arlington is a special place that will only continue to be one of the premier communities in Central Ohio and the state by supporting leaders

who foster growth and community improvement. We believe that the leaders of this recall scheme have misled some residents into a potentially very dangerous future for our city and that their reasons for recall are not true and basically boil down to them not getting everything they wanted in respect to Northam Park improvements. We believe the vast majority of our community share in our vision for a future where UA continues to be a shining city where our kids and grandkids will want to live and raise their families. Please join us as supporters by liking this page and by visiting www.BelieveInUA.org and volunteering and donating.

THANK YOU UPPER ARLINGTON!!! The results are unofficial but it appears the recall has been handily defeated tonight by a margin in the range of 60% to 40% for all of the four Council persons. Since the day the recall leaders started their petition process, there has been a dark cloud hanging over our city. In a sense, once they pulled those petitions, today's vote needed to happen. Tonight closes that sad chapter in our community's history and signals a fresh, new beginning for everyone in UA.

We have a very passionate and engaged citizenry and we commend the leaders of the Recall for their passion for our community. Although they clearly have a different vision for the future of Upper Arlington, we hope to work with them to find common ground and create healing in our community.

The election is over and the people of Upper Arlington have spoken. We invite those who voted differently today to become engaged in the political process and communicate with the city in a constructive manner. In particular, once the dust settles from this campaign, we invite leaders supporting the recall to meet with the city to discuss their desires in a civil conversation. We also urge them to begin immediately to work together with us to start the healing process for our community.

Remember that polling locations are open until 7:30 PM tonight. Please get out and vote AGAINST the recall!

We want to thank everyone in the Upper Arlington community who has supported our campaign in these tense past couple of months. The election is finally here and we are so grateful to those who've stepped forward to offer support, volunteer, donate and most of all just offer encouragement. These four people are not politicians. They are our neighbors who donate time away from their families every Monday night to try to make our community a better place for our families. Please show your support today by getting to the polls early and voting AGAINST the recall of all four of them. THANK YOU!

Sunday's Face the State program on WBNS 10TV showed unanimous opposition to the radical recall of UA Council members. There was very interesting analysis refuting the Recall Faction from the panelists who come from all ends points of the political spectrum. Vote NO on recall on Tuesday http://www.10tv.com/FaceTheState

We have a lot of folks out distributing materials today. Here are a couple of our helpers who are having fun this morning. They are the reasons those on Council work hard for the community. Let's keep UA a great place to live and raise a family. Vote no on recall Tuesday.

The Recall Faction has based much of their campaign on assertions that the city tried to hide that "parks" were a part of 2014's Issue 23 funds. In doing so, the Recallers have pulled isolated pieces from a comprehensive campaign from many different pieces of communication. If the city was trying to hide that parks were a part of Issue 23 they did a poor job of hiding it because it appeared in multiple mailings that the city sent to the entire city, "parks" appeared in numerous Issue 23 articles in the UA News, and even the opponents of Issue 23 acknowledged that "a renovation of Northam Park" was a possible use of funds. Learn the truth about the Recallers assertions at http://believeinua.org/issues/ and VOTE AGAINST THE RECALL ON TUESDAY!

Here's another rebuttal to an outrageous claim from the Recall Faction. One of the Recall Faction's deceitful claims has been that UA Council illegally denied citizens the right to vote on a vacant Council seat by violating the city's charter. The Recall Faction leaders took this issue to the Franklin County Board of Elections yesterday where the Recallers were rebuffed and the city's actions were affirmed.
