California policies led to the closure of the Philips 66 and Valero refineries over to the past year. To make up for that loss in refining capacity, the West Coast is now importing twice as much gasoline from around the world as it did just a few years ago. That drives prices up for you at the pump. That's why I've introduced the National Security Interstate Pipeline Act, H.R. 9838, a bill that would authorize the expedited approval of interstate oil and natural gas pipelines that would make it easier to transfer products, like gasoline, from regions with refineries.

It was an exciting morning in Palm Springs as we celebrated the Baggage Handling System Groundbreaking at Palm Springs International Airport. I helped secure $3 million in Community Project Funding to expand and modernize this important component of the PSP operations residents and visitors rely on.

I'm glad to see the Justice Department taking action to protect the integrity of our elections. Any voter fraud is too much voter fraud. That's why I've voted for voter ID and commonsense policies that strengthen our election security.

The arrests were the latest escalation in a federal effort to tackle electoral wrongdoing in California, something local officials have denied is a widespread problem.

I toured the Kaiser Permanente Wildomar Trail Medical Building this week and saw first-hand how they are expanding heath care services for southwest Riverside County families. I know the families I represent need greater access to health care facilities as well as more affordable health care options. That’s why I voted to pass the Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act – legislation that lowers health care premiums, increases health care access, expands health care choices, and brings greater transparency to America’s health care system.
