Please enjoy the photos of all the fun activities Ms. Lee is doing with her Korean 1 and Korean 2 students!
In September, the students were introduced the Han River, which flows through Seoul, the capital of South Korea. They explored the beautiful scenery along the river and learned about the various activities people can enjoy there.
They learned the K-pop song “Flying Butterfly” (나는 나비) by YB Band. The song carries a message of hope: even if we may feel small or insignificant like a caterpillar today, we can one day become a beautiful butterfly that flies freely in the sky. Students practiced writing and reading these lyrics in Korean and learned about their meaning.
By the end of September, they completed the introduction to Hangul, the Korean writing system. To review what they had learned, students used clay to create Korean words and their own names. They also made bracelets using beads shaped like Korean consonants and vowels.
