Sacred Way Sanctuary Research, education and preservation facility dedicated to our Indigenous animal relations.

Sacred Way Sanctuary has its foundation in Native Traditional Knowledge and Western Academia. We are a research, education and preservation facility that is guided by a Governing Board of Traditional Tribal Elders and Scholars in Canada and the United States. In addition to this, our horses and their history with the Native Peoples have been the subject of a PhD in Indigenous Studies from the Univ

ersity of Alaska Fairbanks by our Founder. We work closely with the members of our Governing Board to ensure that traditional protocols have been followed and that the knowledge we put forth is culturally, historically, and spiritually correct.

Twice a year, we shear our traditional Diné “Churro”sheep to keep them healthy and comfortable as the temperatures rise. We keep as much of their wool as we can to make traditional and cultural items — a beautiful way to honor our sacred companions and their gifts. 💛
