At First 5 Yolo, "It’s All About the Kids." We are dedicated to serving the needs of Yolo County’s youngest residents and their families.

We fund a number of programs across the county as well as work to identify and raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing our increasingly diverse community of children, ages 0-5, and their families. Supporting, promoting and coordinating services to benefit that population is at the heart of our work. First 5 Yolo was formed as the Yolo County Children and Families Commission (YCCFC) following the passage of Proposition 10. The Prop 10 initiative added a 50-cent-per-pack tax on cigarette sales to fund programs promoting early childhood development for children ages 0-5 and their families. The collected tax monies allocated to Yolo County are administered by the First 5 Yolo Commission. Facebook Comment Policy:

Free health screening and community resource event on Friday, September 18, from 1–5 p.m. at Westfield Park, 504 Poplar Avenue, next to Westfield Elementary in West Sacramento!

Residents can receive free blood pressure checks, diabetes screenings, and basic health screenings. Community partners will be available to share resources and information about services and supports and can help with on-the-spot enrollment. First 5 Yolo partners will be there to share about services available for new parents and residents can purchase low-cost fresh produce from the Center for Land-Based Learning’s mobile farmers market, which accepts SNAP/EBT and offers customers using these benefits a 50% discount through Market Match.

Join us in Woodland for Welcome Baby: Road to Resilience. A family resource fair where you can discover valuable resources, enjoy fun crafts and activities, meet other families, and have fun. The first 80 attendees will receive a free taco meal.

When: Saturday, September 12, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Where: 625 Court Street, Woodland, CA 95695. Parking is located on 1st Street, parallel to Woodland’s Farmers Market.
