Last evening I was reminded of something simple but powerful: leadership is not just about moving fast; it’s about moving with purpose and gratitude.

I was genuinely inspired by Mayor Len Pagano’s thoughtful letter to Alderman Elizabeth Holt. In a world that often favors shortcuts, his gesture reminded me that old fashion letters, sincere appreciation and taking the time to thank people still matter. That kind of leadership reflects wisdom, humility and a deep respect for public service.

As someone who values being efficient, transparent, and forward-moving, I also believe we must never lose sight of the balance that comes from experience, tradition and the personal touch. There is strength in doing things faster, but there is equal strength in pausing to recognize people properly and meaningfully.

I still remember my first day in office and Mayor Pagano’s advice has stayed with me ever since: write the letter, take the time, and never do a shortcut when you want to truly appreciate someone. That is advice all of us can learn from!

Thank you, Mayor Pagano, for the example you set. It’s a reminder that good leadership lifts others up, honors hard work and leaves a lasting impression.

Check out Men's Modern General Store featured in St. Charles County City Lifestyle!

We’re incredibly proud of Men’s Modern General Store, as it elevates our city’s brand too; adding timely class and as well brings a unique, premium destination to our community.

Just hearing the term “general store” calls to mind images of strong, resilient, working men gathered on porches, around a stove or barrel socializing, spinning stories, sharing life. This social hub of old acted as a community gathering spot that carried a quiet magic for men, young and old, wh...

Congratulations to SCCAD on the opening of Station 34! đźš‘

St. Charles County Ambulance District has shown what resilience looks like. From the difficult days that once included the Cottleville station closure to today’s momentum with Station 34, SCCAD has rebuilt, modernized and become a model of EMS leadership across Missouri. Proud to celebrate the teams, the mission and the community support that made this rebound possible. A special thank you to CEO Skip Stephens for his outstanding leadership.

Wishing entire SCCAD family great success and a future filled with safe calls and continued impact.

The Certificate of Appropriateness process exists for a reason: to preserve the character, history, and visual integrity of our Old Town Historic District while ensuring thoughtful, consistent growth. It is not meant to be a formality after work is completed, but rather a proactive step that guides decisions before changes are made.

When improvements or installations occur prior to review and approval, it undermines the purpose of the process and the standards that have been carefully established through a transparent, democratic and community-driven approach. These standards reflect the shared vision of our residents and business owners. We are proud to be a vibrant and growing city, located among some of the most highly regarded communities in the nation.

If changes to code are needed, there is a clear path to make them; but bypassing the process is not the way forward. Collaboration and dialogue are always welcome.

A new Peace Pole now stands in Legacy Park, spreading a simple but powerful message: May peace prevail on Earth.

New Peace Pole Installed in Legacy Park

Thanks to the efforts of the Cottleville Weldon Spring Rotary Club,
a new peace pole was installed. Peace Poles are recognized around the world as symbols of unity, hope, and the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth.” in various languages. The City appreciates the Rotary Club’s continued commitment to community service and helping make our parks and public spaces welcoming for all.
The eight languages are English, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, and Hebrew. May Peace Prevail On Earth.

It is estimated that there are over 200,000 Peace Poles in the world
on every continent which have been planted over many decades.
