When government handles taxpayers’ money and important public records, transparency and fiscal responsibility matter. Voters deserve to know what went wrong, how it will be fixed, and how future mistakes will be prevented.

Economic depression? I’m already depressed every time I buy groceries, see what my students are paying for rent, or open my electric bill. And now Washington’s answer is a $5,000 check if the right party wins?

If the government has $5,000 of my money lying around, I’d rather they stop taking it in the first place.

Bloomington is looking to resolve a wrongful arrest lawsuit involving allegations of constitutional rights violations.

Regardless of who is involved, government officials and police should be held accountable when someone's rights are violated. Due process and civil liberties should not depend on who you are.

Court records show the two men who accused a former assistant police chief of various rights violations during a June traffic stop are negotiating a settlement with the city.
