Pastor Doug Gamble I am here to help transformed leaders transform their organizations to then transform their communities. He helped plant three churches during his ministry.

Doug Gamble has gathered wisdom from many ministry engagements during four decades of congregational ministry and community outreach. Two of those decades included global outreach work as well. His passion is helping christian leaders in business, nonprofit agency, government and church ministry to move from transactional leaders toward transformational leaders and lead their organizations in the same direction. As such leaders begin to collaborate within that paradigm our communities can actually begin to see lasting and sustained community transformation. Doug began pastoring in 1978 and has served in eight congregations, from open country to small town to big city. He is particularly interested in helping believers understand how to make Great Commission living an everyday experience. On Jan. 1, 2023 Doug transitioned from missions pastor to City Reaching Pastor at Crossroads Fellowship in Raleigh, NC, to focus on his sweet spot of marketplace ministry and deeper collaboration with the 50 local agency partners Crossroads Fellowship supports. Doug became a master at building cooperative relationships with many causes outside the church walls and overseas too. These often relate to education, poverty alleviation, and social services. Every agency or congregation is unique and must find its own niche in God's kingdom and then learn how to function collaboratively for maximum impact.

As a child raised on hymns I appreciate the good brain sludge it created. I have plenty of sludge I wish I could delete ( the jingle to Gillian’s Island 🤦🏼‍♂️)

This morning this hymn just sprang to life in my thoughts so had to look it up to recall all the verses: from Elisha Albright Hoffman written after 1900 or there about.
Hope it blesses you all:

I Must Tell Jesus

1
I must tell Jesus all of my trials;
I cannot bear these burdens alone;
In my distress He kindly will help me;
He ever loves and cares for His own.

Refrain
I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
I cannot bear my burdens alone;
I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.

2
I must tell Jesus all of my troubles;
He is a kind, compassionate Friend;
If I but ask Him, He will deliver,
And in my griefs with me He will blend.
3
Tempted and tried I need a great Savior,
One who can help my burdens to bear;
I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus;
He all my cares and sorrows will share,
4
O how the world to evil allures me!
O how my heart is tempted to sin!
I must tell Jesus; He will enable
Over the world the vic’try to win.

I'd like to recommend a GREAT seminar if you are in Raleigh area. My dear friend and colleague Reggie Edwards is the local expert and long time champion of this cause in our city. She has blessed me so much over the last 20+ years.

We’re excited to invite you to a unique and enlightening event hosted by The Encouraging Place in collaboration with First Baptist Church and the North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals.

This quote haunts me! I feel our politics are already there. People of character and accomplishment are not abrasive and narcissistic enough for todays parties left and right. I hope I’m wrong but I fear Voegelim may very well be describing today. Sadly the same may be true in many other key institutional layers of leadership

One of my favorite cop shows was The Closer I loved how Kyra Sedgwick would say “confession is good for the soul!” So here goes my annual Girlscout confession. My left had went for my wallet while my right hand was already opening the Mint cookie box and in spite of have three small bags of Lowes stuff I was in cookie heaven before I got to my van

I feel so much better now. Oh yeah last weekend for GS cookies better get out there before their all gone. Just sayin

Dear Friends, I try to share not only good resources, but actual sources of them as well. TGC is a really great one, founded by one of my hero's Tim Keller and a colleague. Perhaps you will find some good things to read there

The Gospel Coalition supports the church by providing resources that are trusted and timely, winsome and wise, and centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ.
