“Paintings That Changed the World” is Christine Small’s new course delivered on Fridays to The Knowledge Exchange (TKE) lifelong learning group. Pictured here is Lascaux Caves in France.

Christine says, “While this looks like a very primitive painting to us today, it is very significant. It was discovered in 1940. Cave paintings were thought to be fake when they were first found in the 1800's but after it was carbon-dated they were found to be paintings that originated in 15,000 BCE. Drawing was thought to have evolved, but this proved that it started with actual identifiable images.”
