We want to see our school reach 70% participation over the weekend!

If we hit that goal, we’ll be adding BBQ SAUCE to the principal's bucket! 🪣😂🌶️

💜⭐ WE HAVE REASON TO CELEBRATE! ⭐💜

The Texas Education Agency just released the latest results, and we are incredibly proud to announce that Salinas Elementary has earned the Purple Star Campus Designation for the 2026–2027 school year! 🇺🇸💜

The Purple Star Campus Designation recognizes Texas schools that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families. Purple Star campuses provide resources, transition support, and programs designed to help our military families feel welcomed, connected, and supported.

A HUGE Ranger shout-out goes to our amazing Military Liaison, Mrs. Buchanan! 💜👏 Her hard work, dedication, and heart for our military-connected students and families helped make this recognition possible!

We are especially proud to serve the military families who are such an important part of our Salinas community. 🇺🇸

🔬☀️ Science is heating up in 2nd grade! 🥚🔥

2nd grade Rangers took science outside to investigate and explore how matter changes when exposed to heat. And with this Texas heat, they had the perfect outdoor laboratory! 🤠☀️

Their experiment was EGG-cellent… literally! 😂🥚 They actually fried an egg on the asphalt while observing firsthand how heat can cause matter to change.

Nothing beats hands-on learning that students will remember! Way to go, 2nd grade scientists! 🔬❤️💙

We're celebrating the importance of showing up every day ready to learn with special staff and student dress-up days throughout the month!

Regular attendance helps students build strong habits, stay connected, and achieve academic success. We can't wait to have some fun while highlighting the importance of being present and engaged each day.

🎨 Exploring the Elements of Art at Salinas Elementary! 🎨

In Art class, our students are learning about the 7 Elements of Art! Each month will focus on one element. Students will learn how artists use it, and then create artwork inspired by what was learned.

This month, we’re exploring LINE! ✏️ Students are discovering how lines can be used in so many different ways to create unique styles, patterns, shapes, and works of art.

We can’t wait to see where our creativity takes us as we explore each Element of Art throughout the year! 🖌️✨
