Migrating monarchs have reached Texas!⁠

Journey North, a community science program of the Monarch Joint Venture, has received two reports of roosting monarchs in Texas in the past few days, as well as plenty more in Oklahoma (you can see a few on this map, but head over to the Journey North website for more).⁠
⁠
The southernmost roost report, from Mason, Texas, is still over 700 miles away from the monarchs' overwintering grounds in Mexico, but they're getting closer!

MENTORED DOVE HUNTS: Youth hunters ages 8-18 and adults new to dove hunting – the Missouri River Valley Chapter of Quail Forever #3152 is hosting a dove hunting clinic, shooting practice and mentored hunts for those interested in learning more about dove hunting! Join them for the pre-hunt clinic and practice on August 26th in Washington, then for a mentored hunt in early September in New Haven.
