CHARGED: Attempted Unlawful Contact with Minor, Attempted Statutory Sexual Assault, Possession of Child Po*******hy

Vance Edmund Stabley, 64, was arrested this afternoon near Areford Park in South Union Township, where it is alleged that he intended to meet a 13 year-old girl for sexual activity. Instead, he was met by members of a group known as Predator Poachers Long Island who arranged the meeting through use of a decoy and alerted the Pennsylvania State Police. Stabley was taken into custody and a search warrant was executed on his home and cellphone; numerous images of child sexual abuse material were located during the search.

APPREHENDED: Robbery, Burglary

Robert Scott, 45, was wanted for a 2003 robbery that occurred in May 2003, and for which he has been a fugitive for over 23 years. Recently, a source indicated that Scott was living under his brother’s identity in Romulus, Michigan; yesterday, through the cooperation of multiple law enforcement agencies, he was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals. Scott is currently awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania; like all defendants, he is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

This arrest was made possible by the outstanding efforts of Trooper Ronald Harris and PSP’s Fugitive Task Force; U.S. Marshals; and our law enforcement partners in Michigan.

CONVICTED: Attempted Homicide, Recklessly Endangering Another Person

Antonio Samuel Garnett, 26, was convicted in a jury trial today for an incident that occurred on June 9, 2025 in the City of Uniontown. Garnett fired multiple rounds into a vehicle being driven by Gregory Martinez following a verbal altercation, which endangered the victim and the entire community.

This case was investigated by Officer Seth Haggerty of UPD, and prosecuted by First Assistant DA Michelle Kelley and Assistant DA Anthony Juliani.

Anthony is a graduate of Waynesburg University and the Duquesne University School of Law, and previously served as a clerk for Judge George. We look forward to working with Anthony, who will be a valuable asset to our county!

SENTENCED: 20 to 40 years

Terrell Jones, 36, entered a guilty plea to Third Degree Murder for killing Samantha Harden outside of McPatton’s Pub in the City of Uniontown in June 2022. His sentence will run consecutive to a 7 to 14 year sentence he received last year on an unrelated fi****ms case. This plea was entered after hearing 4 days of trial testimony and before a verdict was reached. This matter was investigated by Officer Zachary Vernail of Uniontown PD and Trooper Justin Handlin of PSP-Uniontown, and prosecuted by First Assistant DA Michelle Kelley and ADA Tyler Shultz.

We thank the many Officers, Troopers, and experts that helped put together a successful prosecution, and mourn with the family of Samantha who have waited nearly 4 years for justice. May her memory be eternal.
