CHARGED: Robbery, Terroristic Threats

Stephen Gaza, 46, has been charged in connection with the robbery that occurred yesterday at United Bank in Point Marion Borough. It is alleged that Gaza passed a note to a teller demanding money and indicated that he had a fi***rm. He was apprehended early this morning by PSP - Uniontown in a home in Ronco after an extensive investigation.

*All defendants are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a Court of Law.

CHARGED: Attempted Homicide, Robbery, Aggravated Assault

Nicholas Easter, 41, is accused of attempting to kill his mother when she returned to the home they share in Ronco last evening. Easter, while wearing a ski mask, violently assaulted her with a blunt object and struck her with a vehicle, causing serious injuries. He is being held without bond in the Fayette County Jail.

GUILTY: Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault

Frank Jackson Powell Chambers, 36, was convicted in a jury trial for assaulting a woman outside of Byers Market in the City of Uniontown in September 2025. He will be sentenced on October 15.

This case was investigated by Officer Terry Robatin of Uniontown PD and prosecuted by DA Mike Aubele.

GUILTY: Strangulation, Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault

Daniel Buretz, 66, was convicted in a jury trial for an incident that occurred on February 14, 2026, where he assaulted a family member and threatened to kill her. Buretz will be sentenced on October 5, 2026.

This matter was investigated by Trooper Austin Moody of PSP - Belle Vernon, and prosecuted by ADA Tyler Shultz.

CHARGED: Kidnapping to Inflict Injury/Terror, Aggravated Assault

It is alleged that Tylar Greenough, 30, while subject to an active Protection from Abuse Order, entered the victim’s home in the city of Uniontown by climbing through a second story window. He held the victim, her child, and her mother against their will, including threats with a fi***rm; he physically assaulted the adult victims over the course of several days between that home and a nearby hotel. Both adult victims had significant bruising and injuries related to the assaults. The defendant was apprehended by Uniontown Police this afternoon after he re-entered the victim’s home (the victim was not present), and was in possession of a fi***rm when he was arrested. The defendant is a convicted felon that is not allowed to possess fi***rms in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

CHARGED: Homicide by Vehicle, Accidents Involving Death or Personal Injury

Mark DiMatteo, 66, is charged in connection with the hit-and-run incident that occurred yesterday in Redstone Township. DiMatteo is alleged to have struck and killed Ronald Hostetler, 62, of Confluence, with his vehicle as Mr. Hostetler was loading equipment onto a trailer; DiMatteo fled the scene without rendering aid or providing information to authorities. He was apprehended yesterday evening after an intensive search by multiple law enforcement agencies.

We thank the public for the assistance we received yesterday in identifying the vehicle alleged to have been involved in this crime.

SENTENCED: 20 to 40 Years' Incarceration

Brianna Bloyer, 32, was previously convicted at trial of 3rd Degree Murder for killing Bentlee Myers, a 2-year-old child in her care. Judge George imposed the maximum sentence allowed by law for this offense.

This was a very difficult and emotional case for everyone involved; thank you again to all of our law enforcement partners, emergency medical services, the staff at WVU Children's Hospital, and the many witnesses and family members who helped secure justice for Bentlee.
