Fresh Fire Church in Partnership with the Community Coalition of Fayette County will be sponsoring a City Counsil Candidate Forum on Tuesday September 12th at 6pm at Fresh Fire Church, 171 Connellsville Street Uniontown. The event will be moderated by Dr. Jo Ann Jankoski. Dr. Jo Ann Jankoski is an Associate Professor in the Human Development and Family Science Department at Penn State University-the Eberly Campus. Dr. Jo, as her students and colleagues refer to her, earned her two master’s degrees, one in Clinical Mental Health, the other Social Work. She completed her terminal degree in Counselor Education and Supervision. Dr. Jo has 25 plus years in mental health and 22 years in higher education. She is an established scholar, researcher and presentor. Dr. Jo has focused her passion to make a difference in Fayette Country, sitting on many local committees and boards.

Uniontown has been facing increasing challenges throughout the city including an increase in crime, violence, substance abuse, several fatal shootings in the last year as well as problems that many other jurisdictions throughout the commonwealth are facing. Now, more than ever it is imperative for us to elect individuals to public service who have the community and the residents of the community as their priority. Our beautiful city needs leadership, accountability, and positive change to remain competitive with other similar towns throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.
We encourage the residents of the city of Uniontown to attend, as well as all local press, business owners, churches, and organizations. Additionally, other candidates running for countywide and state offices are encouraged to attend and mingle with voters. The Fayette County Republican Committee and the Fayette County Democratic Party will be in attendance registering residents to vote and providing information. This election is very important to the future of our city and our hope is to get everyone involved.
