Santuc Fire Department was dispatched to a MVA at the Intersection of Whitmire HWY and Wilkerson Road. Captain 1155 had the command.

Friday July 24 at 830am Santuc Fire was dispatched to a MVA with Entrapment at the intersection of Whitney Rd and Whitmire HWY. Units got on scene found a passenger car vs dump truck with the car sustained major damage. Drivers from both vehicles were transported to SRMC Trauma center via Union County EMS. Captain 1152 had Whitmire HWY command. The accident is under investigation with the SC Highway Patrol and SC State Transport Police.

Santuc Fire Department responded mutual aid with Southside FD and Monarch FD to a fire alarm in the 500 block area of Deep Water Road at 2 pm this afternoon. Then was dispatched to a car fire this evening along with Monarch and Southside FD in the 200 block area of Willford Road. Engine 1 went on scene with a working vehicle fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and all unit's went back in service. No injuries were reported. Good teamwork by everyone.

Union County experienced straight-line wind damage during the severe storm that moved through the county. Union County Emergency Management and emergency personnel are currently assessing damage throughout the county.

Residents are encouraged to use caution when traveling and avoid downed power lines and damaged areas.

Please report all emergencies to Union County 911. All power outages should be reported directly to your power provider.

Santuc Fire has responded to wreck number two for the day. This wreck was in the area of 2278 Santuc Carlisle Highway nobody was hurt or injured.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hart family for the passing of Claude T Hart aka Tommy and the Union Public Safety Department as one of their brothers. Tommy was a great police officer and a great firefighter we got it from here brother.
