At 358 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Dayton, moving
east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Dayton, Kettering, Trotwood, Miamisburg, Springboro, Vandalia,
Englewood, Moraine, Carlisle, Oakwood, West Carrollton, Riverside,
Clayton, Brookville, Germantown, New Lebanon, Farmersville, Shiloh,
Centerville, and Fort Mckinley.
This includes the following Interstates...
I-70 in Ohio between mile markers 28 and 32.
I-75 in Ohio between mile markers 42 and 60.
AFFECTS: Montgomery, OH
INSTRUCTION: For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Wind damage with this storm will occur before any rain or lightning.
Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. SEEK
SHELTER IMMEDIATELY inside a sturdy structure and stay away from
windows.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
