There has been some discussion about Fire/EMS calls at the Global Industrial Airpark, so we wanted to share the numbers and provide some helpful context.

In 2025, Fire/EMS responded to 980 calls in the City of Union:
• 788 calls, or 80.4%, were in District 81
• 192 calls, or 19.6%, were in District 82, where the Industrial Airpark is located.

Calls in District 82 also decreased from 235 in 2024 to 192 in 2025—an 18% reduction.

It is also helpful to consider the Airpark’s contribution to the community. Businesses generate approximately 85% of Union’s income tax revenue, with the Global Industrial Airpark serving as the primary economic driver. This revenue helps support Fire and EMS services, along with other important services available to residents and businesses throughout Union.

We hope this information provides a clearer picture of both Fire/EMS activity and the important role the Airpark plays in supporting our community.

ISSUE 21: November 3, 2026

Issue 21 is a proposed 1.0% earned income tax increase for Police and Fire/EMS services. If approved, Issue 21 is projected to:

🚓Generate $1.3 million annually for the Police
🚒Generate $1.3 million annually for the Fire/EMS
🌳Make $1.7 million in General Fund revenue available for permanent Parks improvements.
