SEPSA Fire Authority
Today, our crews responded to a shed fire and, while entering the driveway, accidentally struck a basketball hoop. While no one wants something like this to happen, the reality is that firefighters are human and mistakes can occur, even while responding to emergencies.
What makes me proud today is not the mistake itself, but how our crews responded afterward. Without hesitation, they stepped up and offered to replace the hoop. As I write this, members are out there assembling a brand-new basketball hoop so that a local child doesnโt have to go without one.
At SEPSA Fire Authority, we believe accountability matters. When something happens, we take ownership, work to make it right, and continue serving our community with integrity. Thatโs exactly what our firefighters demonstrated today.
I couldnโt be more proud of the professionalism, character, and compassion shown by our crews. Thank you for always doing your best to serve our residents, both during emergencies and afterward.
