Addia Kathryn Louise Wuchner Executive Dir. KY RTL Ed Foundation, 05-19 KY House of Rep., RN Bioethicist Public Policy Consult The answer to that question is simple.

Dear Boone County Friends,

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving as your State Representative. I believe the strength of Boone County and our state is found in the individuals and families that form the fabric of our community. I share your traditional values and hopes for our children and grandchildren. Serving as your representative in Frankfort, I fought for excellence in educatio

n, improved health care for children and seniors, and stood up for meaningful support for our military families, Second Amendment rights and prevention of child abuse and fatalities from abuse and neglect. I have worked to lower taxes and voted against burdensome regulations. In the last budget cycle I stood firm against $1 billion in new debt and $300 million in job-killing taxes. People often ask me how I decide to vote on the various bills that are before the legislature. The people of my district elected me because we share a similar vision and philosophy of government. That philosophy of government guides me in the decisions I make on a daily basis. It provides a road map for the path I take as I work to move our state forward. As a conservative, my belief in the limited role of government acts as my guiding principle. Simply put, the role of state government is to empower people to take care of themselves, while being aware that government must also provide a safety net for those who cannot care for themselves. I evaluate every piece of legislation that comes before me with that in mind, asking two essential questions: What is the underlying problem the bill is attempting to solve? Is it the role of state government to solve this problem? As I approach every vote, no matter how contentious or personally challenging, I take comfort in knowing you are there to support me in the battle to defend our values and our freedoms. My Kentucky roots run deep. My family was granted land in Kentucky after the Revolutionary War. I love our state, her people, her vast resources and her beauty. I want our children and grandchildren to believe they are blessed to call Kentucky home and to know that they have every opportunity to succeed. Be assured that I will continue to work to lead Boone County and our state to a brighter and more prosperous future. Thank you again for your trust in me, and God Bless. Office [email protected]

Before I say what is on my heart, I am reminded that yesterday was the National Day of Prayer — a day that calls us not only to pray for our nation, but also for wisdom, humility, and unity.

As the political season intensifies with endless ads, accusations, and noise, my prayer is simple: that after the votes are cast, our nation, our Commonwealth, and our Grand Old Party will come back together united — respecting both the process and the people.

I say this as someone whose roots in Kentucky run deep. I am a Kentuckian by heritage and by heart. My great-great-grandfathers were granted land in what was then the Kentucky County of Virginia for their service in the Revolutionary War. They were patriots — and that spirit still lives in the people of this Commonwealth.

Kentuckians are thoughtful, independent, faithful people. They listen carefully. They weigh issues seriously. And while they deeply respect leaders — including our President of the United States — they are not easily swayed by endorsements, political pressure, or power from Washington. Kentuckians vote their conscience.

Kentuckians vote their convictions. We vote with both heart and mind.

Columnist Al Cross recently wrote:
“Call me crazy, but I still think Kentuckians want senators and representatives, not rubber stamps.”
I believe Mr. Cross is right.

Respectfully, Kentucky voters deserve more credit than many political pundits and operatives give them. Our people think for themselves. They value strength, faith, integrity, and authenticity. And in the end, they will choose the men and women they believe will best serve Kentucky — not simply serve a political machine.

That is not disrespect toward any leader, including President Trump, whom many Kentuckians greatly admire. It is, instead, a testament to the independent spirit of the Commonwealth itself.

And honestly, that independent spirit is part of what makes Kentucky so special.

We remember Alfie Edwards and the heartbreaking tragedy of eight years ago, a loss that still weighs on our hearts. In his memory, we will continue to stand beside mothers and families with compassion, trusting in the promise that “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

Eight years ago today, Alfie Evans died after his parents were denied the right to seek care for their son. He fought for five days after life support was removed. His life was short, but it mattered. We remember Alfie. We stand with families. And we will not stop defending the right to care, to protect, and to fight for every child.

Frankfort Update – HB 646 Filed this morning in the KY House.
House Bill 646, sponsored by Rep. Tate & Roberts with over a dozen co-sponsors. An Act Relating to Pharmaceuticals That Terminate Life, addresses what we are calling the growing spread of “drugs of death” in Kentucky.

The aggressive illegal marketing and trafficking of abortion inducing drugs in to Kentucky continues to target vulnerable girls and women. (chemical abortion)
The expansion of so- called “medical aid in dying” - assisted euthanasia is now in legal in 12 States, Washington.D.C. & Canada. (With bills already filed in KY in an attempt to change Kentucky’s laws.)

HB 646 addresses the role of pharmaceuticals used to intentionally end life — from its earliest moments to life’s final stages.

Kentucky MUST ensure that those who attempt to break our life-affirming laws by marketing and trafficking these lethal drugs into the Commonwealth face the same strong felony penalties as any other drug dealer.

Life deserves protection — at every stage.
