Residents who live on the north side of Highway 50 (Wal-Mart/Downtown/High School side of Highway 50).

Monday is your normal trash day.

Monday is also your day for yard waste and bulk item pickup.

If you have a bulk item, contact 636-321-2100 to schedule the pickup.

You are limited to one bulk item, no more than 6' in length and less than 50 lbs.

Residents who live on the South Side of Highway 50:

Monday is your normal trash day. It is not your week for yard waste or bulk item pickup. Set your totes out as you normally would.

All items should be placed out for pickup by Monday morning at 6:00 AM.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

City of Union Cemetery

The City of Union will conduct a general clean - up of the Union City Cemetery, located on North Washington Ave. and Chiles Cemetery located on Old County Farm Rd. from October 12th to October 16, 2026. If you have placed any items on the ground at the cemetery that you wish to preserve, please remove the item(s) by 6:00 a.m. on October 12, 2026. Items placed at the cemetery after 4:30 p.m. on October 16, 2026 will not be disturbed throughout the winter, if it does not interfere with cemetery maintenance.
Reminder, landscaping materials are not allowed. No trees, shrubbery or other growth to be planted on any grave(s) or lot(s). Cement or stone curbing, fences, railing or anything that would interfere with mowing will not be permitted. The City shall have the authority to remove any and all such obstructions as may appear.
The rules governing placement of memorials at gravesites in the cemetery that interfere with mowing and maintenance are posted at each entrance to the cemetery. In an effort to keep the cemetery looking as nice as possible, we request your full cooperation on this matter.

Cooling centers are open in the lobbies of City Hall, the Auditorium, and the Police Department.

Each of the lobbies has a cooler with water and a place to cool down. They will be open through the end of the week.

In addition, the Scenic Regional Library is also a cooling center.

Please take extra precautions during the extreme heat and drink plenty of water, particularly when working outside.

If your trash was missed today for any reason, call City Hall tomorrow to give us your address.
We will get it called in to the trash company, it will be picked up on Wednesday.
