Notice concerning the meeting tonight and Thursday Night Live on Main Street.
The presentation being held in the council meeting room at 103 W Main St. on Thursday August 27, 2026 is a Catawba Regional Workforce Housing presentation. The meeting is being hosted by Catawba Regional Council of Governments using a meeting space in Union County. This will not be a Union County Council Meeting, no business of Council will be addressed at this meeting. Catawba Regional planned the meeting and invited various councils, including the Union County Council; in order to present data gathered from a study of workforce housing in the Catawba Region. Any members of Union County Council who attend the meeting are attending by invitation of Catawba Regional Council of Government. The coordination of the meeting, including, date, time, location, invitation, and notification were all the responsibility of Catawba Regional Council of Governments as host.
Union County Council posted notice of the presentation because there is the potential that a quorum of Union County Council will be in attendance to hear the presentation.
The Music on Main Event hosted by the Union County Chamber of Commerce will be held at Main St. Junction this evening due to the threat of severe weather. The street will not be closed on the block of the meeting location. There are public parking areas at the Union County Courthouse, the Union County Government Building, and behind 103 West Main Street that allow for parking within walking distance of the meeting location if available parking on main street is taken.
