Yesterday evening Brindlee Fire conducted a scenario based driver training class. Home owners in the coverage area allowed us to “respond” to their residence (non emergent) so that fire officials could grade and observe responding members radio communications, apparatus positioning tactics, first arrival reports, potential hazard awareness and additional resources that could be utilized when responding to your homes and businesses!
There will be more of these trainings to come! If you’re willing to let us preplan your address please let us know!⬇️
*(PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT ADDRESSES)*

“When the time to act occurs, the time to train is OVER”

THANK YOU for continuing to support the members of BMVFD!

Just before 7am this morning Brindlee Fire units were dispatched to assist Arab Fire with a fully involved business fire.
Our trucks assigned to Marshall county mutual aid responded to keep mainline trucks in service in Morgan County.
Engine 3 along with Engine 4(Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus) SR1 & SR2 responded.
While responding, Arab Fire command advised that they would need a full RIC(Rapid Intervention Crew) upon our arrival. This crew was needed due to extreme temperatures which can tax and exhaust fire crews VERY quickly. Brindlee units assisted with extinguishment and overhaul. Airpacks and other equipment began freezing instantly and sticking to operating firemen.
This is why we implement a training standard and train HARD, continually pushing each other is the only way to prepare for the worst.

It’s always a pleasure to work alongside Arab FD.

All paved and concrete surfaces are almost complete ice.
We expect conditions to improve around noon as temps increase. 🚧STAY HOME IF POSSIBLE 🚧

Today, starting at 8:50am, Brindlee Mtn. volunteers responded to a total of FIVE wrecks on Hwy 231 mountain going into Huntsville. Two of those collisions caused secondary collisions resulting in injuries. This is why we close the roadway until our traffic protocol is in place and traffic is able to pass at a safe rate of speed.
If you are traveling to or from Huntsville, in rainy weather conditions, PLEASE reduce your speed and proceed down the mountain with caution.
Thank you to all agencies who assisted with today’s…mess.
