Beyond the basics, think about potential emergencies when preparing your vehicle for summer travel. Include a first-aid kit, jumper cables, a flashlight with extra batteries, reflective triangles or flares, a basic toolkit or car multi-tool, extra coolant and windshield wiper fluid. 2026 TN's Best-Looking Cruiser Contest
Voting is Open

This year, as part of the 22nd Annual Law Enforcement Challenge, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office will offer “Tennessee’s Best-Looking Cruiser Award” to recognize the law enforcement agency with the coolest cruiser photo. All law enforcement agencies in Tennessee are eligible to participate. See below to review the rules.

Visit https://tntrafficsafety.org/2026-tn-blc-vote to vote.

The deadline to vote is Friday, June 19, by 4:00 PM CT / 5:00 PM ET.

If you have questions, please contact your THSO Law Enforcement Liaison or email TN Traffic Safety at [email protected].

The Rules:
1. This contest is open to the public. No account required.
2. Each voter may only submit one vote using one email address. If a voter submits more than one vote using more than one email address, all votes submitted by that voter will be discarded. Email irregularities will be monitored to ensure fairness.
3. The winning agency will be selected based on ranked voting. This means each voter is required to vote for three agencies based on the following ranking. If the voter selects an agency more than once, all votes from that individual will be invalidated.
• First Place = 3 Points
• Second Place = 2 Points
• Third Place = 1 Point

The contest winner will be announced and awarded at the Law Enforcement Challenge on Friday, September 18.

Note: Tennessee's Best-Looking Cruiser Award contest is separate and does not interfere with the national Best-Looking Cruiser Award contest hosted by the American Association of State Troopers. The THSO encourages everyone to vote in Tennessee's contest as well as the national contest.

31 children died in 2025 because of vehicular heatstroke. Even in temperatures as low as 60°F, the inside of a car can overheat quickly.

When a child is inside an unattended vehicle, their temperature can rise quickly and the situation can become dangerous.

No parent or caregiver thinks this can happen to them, but dozens of children each year are either left behind in a vehicle or become trapped inside.

1 in 4 hot car deaths happen when kids get into cars and can’t get out. Prevent heatstroke: Always lock your car and keep keys out of children’s reach. Visit NHTSA.gov/Heatstroke to learn more.
