Public Notice: The Union Township Zoning Hearing Board will be holding a meeting on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. and the Union Township Supervisors will be holding a special meeting immediately following the conclusion of the Zoning Hearing meeting. The meeting location will be at the Township building located at 16450 Route 8, Union City, PA 16438. The meeting will be held to discuss the possible resolution of the zoning, appeal, French Creek Energy, LLC v. Union Township Zoning Hearing Board in the Court of Common Pleas of Erie County at docket number 2025–13599.

For those residents interested in the positions for the Union Area Regional Planning Commission a short job description is below:

The Board of Supervisors appoint members to a planning commission and give the commission the responsibility to create a comprehensive plan for the township, to make recommendations for an official map, and to prepare zoning and subdivision and land development ordinances. The planning commission has an important role in reviewing proposed subdivision and land development plans and making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors for final approval.
The planning commission currently meets quarterly but will most likely have an increased number of meetings and time commitments due to upcoming plans to update the Union Area Comprehensive Plan.
Interested residents please send your contact information and any questions to the Township Secretary, Vicky Proctor, at [email protected] or 814-566-0567. The Supervisors will appoint the two positions at their monthly Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 7pm.
