ENDORSEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

I am proud to announce the endorsement of the SEIU, Local 1021 in my campaign for re-election to the Union City City Council.

The SEIU, Local 1021 represents many of our City employees that do the hard work that makes our roads manageable, parks safe and our offices functional.

In the last contract negotiations, I was honored to have pushed for higher raises for them, while keeping an eye on the budget. I also pushed for the City to pay more for their medical. And, for the first time, the City was able to get the lowest paid employees from withing 10% of the local median, to 7.5%.

These may not seem like big things. But they are for the rank and file. Especially after 12 years of deficits, and pay and hiring freezes.

I am proud that we were able to get the budget to a point to where we could do what we did in the last round of negotiations.

Over the past several years, we have accomplished a great deal together—but there is still more work to do.

I look forward to continuing our work to protect Union City’s financial future, strengthen public safety, improve city services, support our local businesses, and ensure that every neighborhood has a voice at City Hall.

ENDORSEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

I am proud to announce the endorsement of AboBaker Mojadidi in my campaign for re-election to the Union City City Council.

Mr. Mojadidi is a spiritual, political and business leader not only in the Afghan community, but in Union City and the Bay Area. His family suffered greatly during the Soviet occupation of his country. Even through all of that, he is still a man that preaches peace and understanding by all.

I am honored to have the support of AboBaker Mojadidi who shares my commitment to keeping Union City, and the Bay Area, moving forward.

Over the past several years, we have accomplished a great deal together—but there is still more work to do.

Yesterday, as Vice Mayor of Union City, I got to welcome the Director General from Taiwan David Wu Chih-Hsiang and his entourage.

I presented him with a proclamation acknowledging the visit and we took some pictures with his entourage, city staff and members of the Chamber of Commerce.

We then went to the TECO SF office here in Union City. They recently moved here from Milpitas.

There, my friend Peter Kuo played a beautiful version of America the Beautiful on his violin. A tour of the facility was then given and lunch was served.

I had to leave a little early, but Mayor Singh showed up to take over shortly after.

These relationships are very important to our City. They bring investment and good paying jobs here for our residents. I look forward to more opportunities like this in the future for our City.

This is how we move our City forward to more prosperity!!!

I am proud to announce the endorsement of the Sprinkler Fitters, UA Local 483 in my campaign for re-election to the Union City City Council.

Local 483 covers the nine Bay Area counties of Alameda, Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, Contra Costa, Solano, Sonoma, Marin and Napa Counties.

I am honored to have the support of Organized Labor who share my commitment to keeping Union City, and the Bay Area, moving forward.

ENDORSEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

I am proud to announce that Makhan Bains has endorsed Jaime Patiño for re-election to the Union City City Council.

Mr. Bains is the CEO of Raja Sweets and the Paradise Ballrooms. He is not only a leader in business, he is a well respected community member that is always ready to help our city and its residents. He often hosts charity events at his businesses and just recently donated to our Friends of Sister Cities Festival.

Makhan has been a longtime member of our community, and I am honored to have his support as we continue working to move Union City forward in the right direction.

We have accomplished a lot over the past several years—but there is more work to do.
