With snow in the forecast, the Village of Union City asks everyone to please respect designated snow routes so our crews can safely and efficiently clear the roads.

🛣️ Snow Routes:

State Route 571 (E. Main St.)
State Route 47 (E. Elm St.)

🚫 Please do not park on the roadway along these routes during snow events. Parked vehicles make it difficult—or impossible—for plows to do their job.

Your cooperation helps keep our streets safe and passable for everyone. Thank you for doing your part and staying safe this winter! ❄️🚜

📢 Attention Union City Residents 📢

We want to remind everyone about the impact of feeding non-domesticated cats in our community. While it may seem kind to offer food, it actually disrupts their natural hunting instincts. These cats are born hunters, and providing them with food can prevent them from developing vital survival skills.

Instead of feeding them, consider supporting local shelters or feral cat programs that focus on responsible management and care. Let’s work together to ensure our feline friends thrive in their natural behaviors.

First Time Ever!…Our entire community has decided to work in a collaborative fashion for a neighborhood clean-up! The City of Union City and the Village of Union City will have 40 yard dumpsters at Railroad Park on Stateline for your convenience and to assist your efforts in making our community the cleanest in East-central Indiana and West-central Ohio. We encourage each property owner, and or resident to gather up all of the stuff in and around your property and throw it away… free of charge. Clean out your junk drawers, your closets, your house, your garage, your basements, your front porch, your back porch, and your yards all for free…bring it to Railroad Park and toss it all in OUR dumpsters. Help us make a statement that we love and care about our community.

Dumpsters and personnel available Friday May 31 thru Sunday June 2. Please do your part to make Union City the HUB of two great states.

We would also LOVE to have volunteers throughout the weekend to assist our staff and our neighbors in emtying the vehicles and trailers and in filling the dumpsters. Please message me directly if you or your organization would like to help.

This is a friendly reminder from the Union City Police Department to please remember to pull your trash cans back away from the road after trash pickup.

Leaving trash cans on the road not only creates an eyesore for our community but also poses significant sanitary risks. Trash cans left out can attract pests and rodents, leading to potential health hazards for you and your neighbors.
