If you have a fire hydrant near your home, please check to see if it's been cleared out. If not, please shovel the area around it if you're able to, or ask other neighbors to help. This saves the fire department valuable time during an emergency. Thank you for your assistance!

🌎🎅 TOWNWIDE SANTA RUN 🎅🌎

TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!! Santa will be making his way throughout town one more time before heading home to the North Pole!

⚠️❗️ Please be mindful of street parking tonight. We do our best to make it down every street (except for dead ends) so that Santa doesn't miss anyone, but the trucks may not be able to make the turn if vehicles are parked too close to the corners. Additionally, streets with a lot of vehicles parked on both sides may be too narrow for the trucks to pass through. ❗️⚠️

The run will start around 5:30pm and we'll post the SANTA TRACKER on our page right before we start. You can access the tracker through the Glympse app, or by simply opening the link in the browser on your device.

Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the passing of one of the most devoted members in our department's history, Ex-Chief Robert "Bobby" Baird.

Chief Baird dedicated an incredible 69 years of service to our community and, at 87 years young, was still serving as an active member at the time of his passing. He served as the Department Chief in 1977 and remained a trusted leader, mentor, and friend to generations of firefighters. His commitment and selflessness set a standard that the department will strive to uphold.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and brothers and sisters at Union Hose Fire Co No 1. Rest in peace, Chief — your legacy will live on through all who had the honor to serve beside you.

A big thank you to all of the residents that have donated to sponsor a hydrant! This is an ongoing project so if you're interested in becoming a sponsor there is still time to donate. We've started outfitting the hydrants with the markers so you'll be seeing more throughout the town as we go!

Please take a few minutes today to remember one of UBFD's bravest, Robert "Hawk" Meyer, who made the ultimate sacrifice on this day 11 years ago. We miss you, Hawk. ❤️

The UBFD has started a sponsorship program to help with the cost of purchasing reflective markers for the fire hydrants in Union Beach.

There are already a few around town by the firehouses and Firefighters Park that you can check out.

Congratulations to our department chief, Carmine Annunziata, and assistant chief, Mike Murray, who were sworn in last night at the town's reorganization meeting. We have the utmost confidence in their leadership and wish them a safe and successful year!
