Yesterday, I spent time attending community events across the district, supporting local traditions and talking with residents about the issues and opportunities facing our communities.

The afternoon began at the Harvard-Yale Regatta, where I spoke with spectators about the race, our communities, and solutions for Connecticut's future. Change isn't a spectator sport—it takes people getting involved and working together.

From there, I headed to the Montville Food Truck Festival, which drew a great crowd and provided an opportunity to continue conversations with residents while enjoying some fantastic local food.

I capped the day off with the Columbia Antique Boat Parade where i spent some time admiring a fee Classic motor boats and striking up conversations with neighbors.

First stop of the day: the Lebanon Farmers Market. It's always great spending time with friends and neighbors while supporting local vendors. Today, the Lebanon Fire Department was offering free blood pressure screenings—thankfully not from the top of the ladder!

Then it was off to a local business to fuel up for the afternoon. A cold brew and a couple of farm-fresh eggs did the trick. Supporting local businesses and local agriculture is what makes our communities strong.

82 years ago today, General Eisenhower spoke those words to Allied forces preparing to storm the beaches of Normandy. Their courage changed the course of history. Today, we honor the bravery and sacrifice of every soldier who fought for freedom that day. We will never forget.

The situation in Norwich is mind blowing. The city's actions make no sense according to what is publicly available. My support remains with the volunteers.

Transparency is overdue on the side of the city.

Spent a few hours at Hebron Church of Hope with Pastor Jordan Brown after our Sunday morning service. Today was the town center project's Landmarks on Parade - historic locations walk through Hebron.

Turns out this church has a rich history in the Great Awakening about 250 years ago.

I appreciate being part of this important town event.

I attended the Taftville Fire Department rally this morning and heard firsthand the concerns surrounding the possible shutdown of the volunteer fire department in the name of public safety.

While there may be more information from the city’s perspective still to come, based on the information currently available, this decision appears to put both the city and surrounding towns at greater risk rather than making them safer. Right now, this simply does not make sense.
