Many of you received your tax bills yesterday in the mail. Please notice that taxes are now remitted to the county and the address appears in the upper left-hand side of your bill. Also, you may choose to use an online payment method. I did an E check for my taxes and found it to be straightforward. There is an option for debit and credit cards as well.
This change was brought in an effort to reduce the duplication of services and keep your taxes as low as possible. For the very few folks who still enjoy paying their taxes in cash, you may still choose to drop them off at the Town clerks office. Please note that we are unable to give change and as such, I would encourage you to simply mail a check to the county or use the online payment option.
Also note that your current Town tax increased total is 1%. .75% is the actual Town increase in taxes and .25% of that are pass through items we have no control over .

At the October Town Board meeting the 2026 Town budget was unanimously passed. It is a .75% increase over the 2025 Budget. The town board worked tirelessly to ensure that, once again, we are well below the 2% tax established by NY state, while ensuring our Town roads and infrastructure are properly maintained, not only for the near, but distant future.  A copy of the budget may be obtained from the town clerk.

DON’T FORGET …this Saturday, October 18, we are hosting a Passport Fair at the Unadilla Town Hall from 9-1!! Perfect opportunity to get your passport and be ready for Christmas break. We are looking forward to seeing you at this great event.

Please note that the Town Of Unadilla will be holding a public hearing for the 2026 budget on October 14, 2025 at 6:30 pm. The preliminary budget to be discussed is currently a 0.75% increase.
Also, we will be discussing the current veterans exemption status for property tax and investigating whether or not that should be updated as it has not been done in some time. 
I would like to take the time to thank our Town Board, Clerk and Highway Superintendent for their continuous hard work and a unified approach to eliminating duplication of services and finding more mindful ways to keep property taxes as low as possible while maintaining the highest standards of care for our roads and infrastructure .
