The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the graduation of two Law Enforcement Academy recruits on Friday 08/28/2026 from the Santa Rosa Junior College in Windsor, CA

Academy Recruits Jarremy Johnson and Jesse Mahan were sponsored by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office and completed their 6-month basic academy training this week. The 220th Basic Police Academy graduating class from Santa Rosa Junior College had 25 Academy recruits, many of which were sponsored by other regional law enforcement agencies.

Deputy Johnson and Deputy Mahan will begin their field training programs next week, which will include approximately 18 additional weeks of training and mentoring by Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office training officers.

Please join Sheriff Kendall in congratulating Deputy Johnson and Deputy Mahan in their accomplishment of graduating from the basic law enforcement academy.

On Monday August 17th, 2026, Sheriff Kendall welcomed 4 new Sheriff’s Deputies for Patrol, promoted a new Corrections Sergeant, and welcomed 2 other employees during a ceremony at the Sheriff’s Office in Ukiah.

Deputy Sheriff’s Trey O’Neill, Christian Ballestrazze, Damian Angell, and Gadge Farris all took their oaths as Sheriff’s Deputies on Monday. All four Deputies came to the Sheriff’s Office as experienced law enforcement officers from other agencies in Mendocino County.

Corrections Sergeant James Wells was promoted by Sheriff Kendall on Monday after working for the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office for over 10 years.

Sheriff Kendall also introduced Public Safety Dispatcher Allen Gregg and a part-time intern Amy Raya who will assist with professional staff duties at the Sheriff’s Office. Dispatcher Gregg came to the Sheriff’s Office with 30 years of dispatch service with the California Highway Patrol.

Please join Sheriff Kendall in welcoming the new additions to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office and celebrating Sergeant Wells’ well-deserved promotion.
