🥳 Happy 150th birthday Ukiah! The celebration kicked off summer and the celebration of our town’s anniversary tonight at the Civic Center and it was fun for the whole family!

We had an amazing time tracing through the history of Ukiah while enjoying food, live music, games and more. Let’s keep this celebration going all year long! 🎂

🛥 It’s time to look back at the best 15 minutes of summer: The Boat Races at the Redwood Empire Fair!

It was one of the biggest and best years ever Saturday night. All the contestants had trouble on their minds as it was another no holds barred type of race. One car went so hard, the tire fell off! If you’re not familiar, this can’t-miss event is all about cars towing boats that literally destroy each other in the blink of an eye. It’s a tradition unlike any other!

If you missed the madness, you’re in luck because we do it all over again in August at the Redwood Empire Summer Fair. We’ll see you there! 🚤 🏁

🧵🇺🇸 Thanks for hosting an amazing 250 Years of Quilting in America event Grapevine Quilters Guild of Mendocino County! History was on display as quilts dating back to 1770 were on display! The art and craftsmanship were front and center as Quilt Historian Arlene Arnold detailed the story behind each of the beautiful works. It was a perfect way to kick off our nation’s 250th anniversary! 🌟

🌭 Thursday’s here and we’ve got a special Cuisine Countdown for you! This week is all about our favorites you can enjoy at Sundays in the Park. Let’s check it out!

1. The return of Sundays means summer has arrived and that means it’s time for a classic hot dog. Lucky for us, no one does it better than Eddie’s Hot Dogs. ()
2. It will feel like we’re back in action as soon as we’re dancing on the lawn with a soft little bao taco in hand from It’s A Bao Time! ()
3. Big Earl’s has your new favorite ready for the weekend. Say hello to Mendo Twister chips. They’re crunchy, they’re sauced and tossed. It’s heaven ()
4. If you need a pep in your step, El Mitote has you covered! The Dubai Frappe will be available Sunday and it’s as rich as Dubai itself ()
5. We’ve said it before, but in case you haven’t tried the Bang Bang Shrimp from Rolling Temptation, this is your sign. It will blow your mind ()
6. This weekend we may test out the cotton candy diet. We’ll have some at the fair and then save a little room for Sweet Cottontail ( 📸 )
7. When it comes to classics, Slam Dunk never misses and our favorite totchos will be available Sunday. We’ll be requesting extra nacho cheese! ()
8. Another local favorite that never ceases to amaze has to be the parm garlic sweet potato fries. This is one option that gets better with every single word ()
9. When Turtle Island Tacos is on the scene cooking up fry bread, you’ll never go wrong. Can’t wait to try the new options! ()
10. My California Food Truck won best tacos at Taco Fest 2025 and one bite into the quesabirria and you’ll see why. ()
11. There’s a reason why Big Eats Grill’s Pig Mac is so popular and it all starts with perfectly cooked BBQ ()
12. Save room for a little dessert courtesy of Sugar Mama Hawaiian Shave Ice. The options are endless! () 🥥
