Join us for Native American Motivation Day!!

Native American Youth in Middle and High School are invited to a special event dedicated to inspiration, learning, and community. This year’s theme, “Create Your Future,” encourages students to explore their strengths, discover new possibilities, and take confident steps toward their goals!

Participants will enjoy a full day of engaging, fun, and educational workshops designed to motivate and empower. In addition to the workshops, the event will feature cultural activities offering a meaningful opportunity to celebrate Native culture and traditions together.

We are proud to announce Keynote speaker this year will be Richie Ragudo Jr!

Juan Dominguez will be MC for the event!

Community fair including Tribal program tables, Mendocino College resource tables and presentors, followed by Dancing!!

For Native American Motivation Day 2026, this is an opportunity for young artists to showcase their talent and creativity! This contest celebrates Native culture and artistic expression, inviting youth to submit their original artwork for a chance to be recognized.

🔹 Who Can Participate? Native youth of all skill levels, 5th-12th grade, living in Mendocino or Lake County
🔹 Submission Deadline: March 6th , 2026 (Hard deadline; as we need to order shirts)
🔹 Prizes & Recognition: Design will be featured as T-shirt for this year's Native American Motivation Day, $100 Honorarium (in the form of a check)

Join us this Friday for the Closing Ceremony of our Native Now: K'edi Wadim exhibit at Mendocino College Gallery! Friday February 6th, 3pm-6pm!!

If you did not get a chance to view the many wonderful pieces on display, now's your chance! We will hold space for artists speak about their work, celebrate the talent our Indigenous Community has to offer, and close out this exhibit in a beautiful way!

There will be a blessing, song, a dance by Hadassa Greensky, and Indian Tacos by our Native American Club!!

Wednesday February 4th, we will also be hosting a Visiting Artist Lecture with Hadassah GreenSky. GreenSky is of Waganakising Odawa (Little Traverse Bay Bands) from Detroit, Michigan.
This will be held on Wednesday, February 4th from 4 - 5 PM in CVPA # 5380.

Wednesday February 4th at 4pm!!

Come support our Men's and Women's team games, with Native Club selling nachos and hot dogs and Coyote Valley Youth group selling desserts!

Join us as we will have a free throw contest against Eddie the Eagle, a basketball giveaway, and dancing!

Attention Community!

Mendocino College Gallery is honored to announce the opening of Native Now: K’edi Wadim (meaning “Walk Well” in Northern Pomo dialect), an exhibition featuring contemporary art by artists of Native American descent living and working today. The show celebrates Indigenous creativity, heritage, and resilience through a diverse range of artistic expressions, from drawing, painting and photography to regalia, beadwork, weaving and basketry.

The opening reception will take place on Thursday, November 20th, 2025, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at the Mendocino College Gallery, 1000 Hensley Creek Road. The event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be provided. The exhibition runs through February 8th, 2026, with gallery hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM, and Wednesdays from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Visitors should check the website for limited hours during winter break or make an appointment by contacting [email protected].

We also encourage you to stop by Native American Storytelling, a dynamic listening session which will be held in the Little Theater from 5:30-8pm!!
