On June 13th, 2025, at around 7:03pm, Uhrichsville Police were advised of a report of a man with a gun threatening to shoot himself in his home. The caller reported that the male had the gun to his head and was refusing to put it down. Officers immediately responded to the residence with the Uhrichsville Fire Department staged nearby.
UPD Officers Brian Lawver and Elizabeth Cottrell arrived on scene along with Dennison PD Officer Van Voorhis. Once the caller was outside, Officers made entry into the home where they located the male who still had the gun pointed at his head.
After a 10-minute standoff, Officers were able to convince the male to drop the gun. Once the firearm was secured, UFD Medics entered the residence. They soon transported the male to Trinity Hospital Twin City without further issue. Thankfully, no one was harmed during the incident.
We would like to thank all first responders for their assistance as well as the original caller for doing everything they could for the male.
