Around 11:15 this morning City of Udall maintenance workers could see smoke from a bucket truck on the east side of Udall. They found and reported the fire at 106 Doyle Drive and maintenance worker and a sheriffs officer removed 1 non ambulatory victim from the house into the garage.

The house is a total loss with heavy fire damage to the 1st and 2nd stories. The apparent cause was a fire on the deck at the rear of the home that then burned through french doors into the home. 2 Udall firefighters received 2nd degree burns but we're able to continue firefighting efforts.

We received automatic aid from Winfield Fire/EMS Department , Mulvane Fire Rescue , Mulvane Ems and Sumner County Fire 9 Belle Plaine. Also assisting was Derby Fire Department and the Cowley County Sheriff's Office.
