🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸
Today, the members of the Bald Eagle Volunteer Fire Company pause to remember the lives lost 25 years ago on September 11, 2001.
We remember the innocent men, women, and children who never made it home.
We remember the 343 FDNY firefighters who answered the call and made the ultimate sacrifice while trying to save others.
We remember the law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, military members, dispatchers, and countless others who ran toward danger when others were running away.
We also remember those who survived that day but later lost their lives after years of battling illnesses caused by their service at Ground Zero.
Twenty-five years have passed, but their courage, sacrifice, and service have not been forgotten.
As firefighters, we carry a special responsibility to remember those who climbed the stairs knowing others were coming down. They answered the call, did their duty, and gave everything they had for people they had never met.
May we continue to honor them through our own commitment to service, brotherhood, and our communities.
