Last night, members from 3rd District, 4th District, Lexie, Enon, Oak Grove, and Tylertown Volunteer Fire Departments, alongside several county supervisors, law enforcement, emergency management personnel, utility linemen, and MEMA officials, were presented with an overview of pipeline operations by representatives from Colonial Pipeline.
Colonial Pipeline operates a 5,500-mile pipeline system stretching from Texas to New Jersey, making it the largest refined petroleum products pipeline in the United States. This pipeline runs through the northern part of Walthall County, generally from the Bridges Road area through Pine Grove Church Road in Darbun.
Training and partnerships like this are invaluable. Understanding pipeline operations, emergency response procedures, and the resources available to first responders helps ensure we are prepared to respond safely and effectively should an incident ever occur.
Thank you to Colonial Pipeline for taking the time to provide this important training and for their continued commitment to working with local emergency responders. We also appreciate every volunteer firefighter, county official, law enforcement officer, emergency management representative, lineman, and MEMA official who took the time to attend. Working together before an emergency happens is what makes our communities safer.
