Public Service Announcement: We have had several Road signs stolen, damaged, or knocked down, through out the County. These signs are expensive. The Supervisors do all they can to fix our roads but could do more if they did not have to replace road signs. A STOP sign that has been knocked down or stolen could mean life or death at an intersection. If caught, you will pay a fine and possibly receive jail time. We should respect our county more than this ! Sheriff Kyle Breland

We have received several reports from concerned citizens saying they have received calls from someone posing as a representative of law enforcement. During the call, they tell the person that there is a warrant for their arrest in Walthall County, and give them a case number. They have the persons name, and social security number, and say that a process server will be coming by and serve the warrant, unless they go ahead and pay the fine with a credit or debit card.

The Walthall County Sheriffs Office does not accept money over the phone. Please do not give out your financial information over the phone to someone pretending to be law enforcement. The Walthall County Sheriffs Office wishes everyone a wonderful, and scam free, new year!!
