North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority - NET RMA

Providing solutions to expedite transportation and mobility projects that will improve the quality of life in North East Texas.

The NET RMA is an independent government agency created to accelerate the development of transportation projects in North East Texas. Our mission is to implement transportation solutions that will enhance the quality of life and the economic environment in our area. The NET RMA is governed by a 19-member board of directors that represent each of the member counties: Bowie, Kaufman, Cherokee, Gregg

, Harrison, Panola, Rusk, Smith, Titus, Upshur, Wood and Van Zandt. Texas RMAs were made possible through an initiative passed by State Legislature in 2001. The NET RMA was established in October 2004.

This morning, officials celebrated a $320,000 investment in the FM 1735 Widening & Straightening Project, a key investment in safer, faster travel for residents, students, and commuters along Chapel Hill Road and Northeast College Road.

Funded by Titus County and the NET RMA, the project will purchase right-of-way and relocate utilities, paving the way for growth and new residential development in the county’s southeast quadrant. A safer route today. A stronger community tomorrow.

🎉 Today local leaders and community partners broke ground on the Henderson Overton Branch Rail Line Enhancement Project: A $15M investment to modernize critical rail infrastructure, boost the economy, and create hundreds of jobs. 🛤️ Funded by an $8.48M FRA CRISI grant, a NET RMA priority grant, and public-private support, the project will fuel growth across East Texas, including West Fraser’s $250M mill expansion, and position Rusk County as a rising industrial hub.

This year’s theme, “Transportation: Ready, Set, Learn,” brought families together for hands-on STEAM fun. 🚦 We joined in with color-changing cups for every student to take home. We’re grateful to be part of a community that values curiosity, creativity, and learning. 💡
