Over the past two weeks, Tyler Fire Department crews have had the opportunity to conduct Technical Rescue training at the UT Tyler Cowan Center. For several years, UT Tyler has graciously welcomed us into their facility, allowing us to utilize different areas of the building for realistic, yet controlled, training scenarios.

This year's training focused on confined-space rescue operations and on working while using supplied-air respirators. Hands-on training like this provides our personnel with the repetitions, experience, and confidence needed to respond effectively when these specialized skills are required on an emergency scene.

We are extremely grateful to UT Tyler and Fire & Safety Technician Russell Kloosterman for their continued partnership and generosity in allowing us to train in their facility. Opportunities like these not only provide an outstanding training environment but also strengthen the relationships between the Tyler Fire Department and the UT Tyler community.

Thank you, UT Tyler, for your continued support of our firefighters and our mission to serve the residents of Tyler safely and professionally!
