Today, we pause to honor the life, loyalty, and dedicated service of a faithful partner, protector, and friend.

We will pay tribute Today at 10:00 AM!

In February 2026, Deputy Constable Jose Terrazas retired from the Sheriff’s Office as a proud K9 handler alongside his loyal partner, K9 Lobo. It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of K9 Lobo.

K9 Lobo was far more than an exceptional working dog; he was a trusted companion, courageous protector, and devoted partner to Deputy Jose Terrazas. Through countless hours of training, sacrifice, and service, Lobo faithfully served his community with unwavering loyalty, strength, and commitment.

For nearly eight years, Lobo stood beside his handler on the front lines, answering every call with courage and devotion. The bond between a K9 officer and handler is one built on trust, protection, and brotherhood, and that bond was clearly evident between Deputy Terrazas and Lobo.

The Smith County Constable Precinct 1 Office was honored to be invited by Dr. Sonja Warren, Counselor at Clarkston Elementary, to participate in Career Day!

Our office enjoyed the opportunity to engage with the students, share what we do in law enforcement, answer their questions, and encourage them to dream big about their futures. It is always rewarding to connect with the youth in our community and help educate them about public service.

We would also like to thank Sergeant Mobley with Tyler PD for joining us and speaking alongside our office during this special event.

It is truly our pleasure to serve the citizens and community of Smith County. We are grateful for the opportunity and look forward to continuing to make positive connections with our youth! 👮🏽‍♂️👮🏽‍♀️📚🚔
