At the end of Foster Care Awareness Month I'd like to remind everyone how important it is to show up for children.
The children we serve won't always remember our names or our face but will remember the small things.

The adult who listened.
The person who kept showing up.
The one who remembered their favorite snack.
The person who made them feel important.

For children in foster care, small moments of consistency and care can have a lasting impact.

CASA volunteers help remind children they matter even during difficult seasons of life. 💙💙💙

Staff Spotlight. This is Gabby, our new administrative assistant. When we asked her to tell us about herself this is what she said, " I recently made a career change and joined CASA after spending 10+ years as a dog groomer. While it was a big change, I’m excited for this new chapter and the opportunity to make a difference in my community.
I love working here at CASA because I love being a voice for children who need it most and helping support them through difficult situations. Outside of work, my husband, daughter, and I love spending time outdoors and enjoying family adventures together."

We love Gabby and are very happy that she has joined our team.

Children may not remember every detail, but they remember who showed up.

For children in foster care, life can be filled with transitions, court dates, placements, and uncertainty.

In the middle of all that change, consistency matters.

CASA volunteers provide children with one consistent adult focused entirely on their best interests. Someone who listens, advocates, and continues showing up through difficult moments.

Sometimes, being present matters more than we realize. 💙

For many children in foster care, the hardest battles are the ones no one can see. 💙

Experiences like trauma, instability, loss, and uncertainty can have a significant impact on a child’s mental health and emotional well-being.

CASA volunteers not only provide consistency and support, but also help advocate for children to receive the services and resources they need whether that’s counseling, educational support, medical care, or other mental health services.

Every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported.

"The unknown, never knowing what's coming next"

We hear this often from the children and teens we serve at CASA. There are so many uncertainties that come with foster care.....where they will live, when they will see family, what school they will attend, when do they get to go back home or what their future will look like.

For many children, the hardest part is not knowing what comes next. That uncertainty can feel overwhelming, especially during a time when they need stability and support the most.

This is why CASA volunteers matter. By showing up consistently, listening, and advocating for a child’s best interests, CASA volunteers help provide a sense of stability during uncertain times. Sometimes, having just one dependable adult can make all the difference. 💙

Families come in many forms, but every child deserves people who show up for them.

On this International Day of Families, we recognize the importance of strong support systems and stable connections for children navigating foster care.

CASA volunteers help ensure children have someone consistently advocating for their needs during uncertain times.
