September 11, 2001. Twenty-five years later, we will never forget. 🇺🇸
Twenty-five years have passed, but the fire service still carries the weight of that day.
343 firefighters answered the call and never came home. They climbed toward the danger while others were trying to escape it. They entered the unknown knowing there were people who needed them—and they did what firefighters do.
They went in.
They were brothers and sisters. Fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, husbands, wives, friends, and members of fire departments across the country. They left home that morning expecting to come back.
They didn’t.
At Twin Falls Fire Department, we honor the 343 not simply by remembering their names, but by carrying forward what they stood for: service, courage, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to the people we are sworn to protect.
Every alarm.
Every response.
Every time we put on the uniform and step onto the rig.
We carry their memory with us.
Today, we remember the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS providers, military members, and civilians who lost their lives on September 11th. We remember the families who were left behind. And we remember the countless first responders who continued answering the call in the days, weeks, months, and years that followed.
September 11th changed our country.
It changed our communities.
And it changed the fire service forever.
Twenty-five years later, their sacrifice remains part of who we are.
Their legacy is ours to carry.
