September was a delicious month for our Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP)! Our students had the opportunity to try a variety of fresh, unique and 100% organic fruits and vegetables, supplied by Aziz Farm.

From mini watermelons and finger grapes to rainbow carrots, chocolate persimmons, Hami melons and more, we encouraged our students to try something new, explore new flavors and enjoy fresh produce.

We love seeing our students excited to taste something new! 💚

Thank you to our school nutrition teams for helping make FFVP a fun learning experience and encouraging students to enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables!

Mrs. Williams class talked about the events of 9/11 and why it’s important to remember those who lost their lives so many years later. The phoenix is a symbol of hope and new beginnings. Even through the toughest times we can rise from the ashes and begin again.

September is Attendance Awareness Month, recognizing that regular school attendance is essential to student achievement. Did you know that missing just 2 days of school a month in Kindergarten can make it harder for students to hit critical reading milestones by 3rd grade. Let's work together to build strong attendance habits right from the start!

REMINDER: The Morongo Unified School District Board of Education wants to hear from the Landers community regarding the possible consolidation of Landers Elementary School with Yucca Mesa Elementary School. Before any decision is made, the Board would like to listen to the experiences, concerns, and needs of our students and families and better understand what matters most to the Landers community.

We encourage families, staff, students, and community members to attend, participate in the conversation, ask questions, and share their thoughts and input.

The Unified Champions of Yucca Valley High School brought a disability awareness fair to the Morongo Unified School District management team, giving district leadership a firsthand look at some of the challenges students with disabilities face every day. Through interactive experiences and meaningful conversations, our students helped build awareness, understanding, and empathy across the district.
