Good morning! Well, lets not get to excited however theres a slight chance for scattered showers today and tomorrow. The heat continues as expected with an advisory in place with temps 100+.
Lightning will pose a threat for those spending time outdoors on this holiday weekend. Stay weather aware!

Good morning! Have outdoor plans this weekend? Heat Advisory issued today from noon until 7 pm. Make sure you pack and consume plenty of water. Its gonna be hot through the weekend and into next week! Near triple digit temperatures are expected. Were stuck with this weather pattern for another 7-10 days. Stay safe and enjoy time with family and friends.

Late this afternoon, Tuttle, Amber, Firends, Pocasset and Naples Fire Departments responded to a wildland fire in Amber. Approx 70 acres of field burned, no structures involved of injuries.
Fire was ignited due to a faulty extension cord powering an RV. After approx 2 hours, mop up was completed and all fire units cleared scene and Hwy 92 was reopened.

This morning Tuttle and Grady County Emergency Management, Tuttle FD, Grady County FD, Bridge Creek FD, Amber FD, Chickasha FD and many others staged on overpasses and other safe areas along I44 westbound in Grady County to pay tribute to Wildlife Officer David Taylor as he was transported home to Lawton from OKC.
Rest in peace sir, we will take it from here. 🙏🇺🇸🙏

Grady County remains in the Burn Ban until September 14th when conditions will be reviewed by County Commissioners.

Wildfires are most often caused by human activity when high winds and dry conditions set the stage for severe fires. The greatest single cause is when burning debris is not properly contained and sparks or burning trash blow into the air. Oklahomans can help prevent fires if they:

Take care when pulling off a road or driving into a field. Hot catalytic converters can ignite vegetation.
DO NOT burn trash. Even a barrel covered with a screen can allow a spark to escape, igniting nearby vegetation.
Do not use fireworks.
Extinguish ci******es in ashtrays. Never toss a cigarette out of a car window, and don’t put ci******es out on the ground.
Keep a fire extinguisher and water handy when working outdoors with equipment that gets hot or involves sparks, such as welding equipment. Water down outdoor work areas in advance.
If advised to evacuate, do so immediately. Choose a route away from the fire hazard and be alert to changes in the speed and direction of the fire and its smoke.

Heat Advisory today due to the humidity. No rain, just air we can wear!

The heat continues today. It’ll feel more humid than earlier this week with a bit more moisture in the air. Clouds and perhaps a few showers will result in lower temperatures across southeast Oklahoma, but it’ll still feel hot because of the added humidity.
