Please join us in congratulating Police Records Lead Sharon McCann on her retirement from the Tustin Police Department!

Sharon joined Tustin PD in 1998 and passionately served the community until her initial retirement in 2023. Sharon agreed to remain part-time with the department to teach the next generation of records personnel. As of March 2025, Sharon has fully retired from the department.

During Sharon's 27 years of service to the Tustin community, she has served in various roles including as a Records Clerk, Police Support Specialist, Police Support Specialist Lead, and Police Records Lead. Throughout her employment, she has remained dedicated to our department and brought positive energy to the building each day.

Sharon has always cared deeply for our department, our employees, and the Tustin community. We surely will miss her incredible wealth of knowledge, but it is her friendly demeanor and kind heart that we will miss the most.

Sharon, congratulations on your retirement and best of luck in your next endeavors!

Today marks the end of National Forensic Science Week and we are shouting out our amazing Police Services Officer who are cross-trained in Crime Scene Investigations. Our CSI trained employees are responsible for the documenting, collecting, and testing of evidence from dozens of different types of crime scenes.

Whether responding to a late reported vehicle burglary, a commercial burglary, a drive-by shooting, or major crimes such as homicides, our CSI team is trained to handle it all.

With their help, and our partnership with the County Crime Lab, dozens of cases in our city are closed every year by identifying suspects through various forms of CSI evidence which is processed by the County's Forensic Scientists.

Happy National Forensic Science Week to our Crime Scene Investigators!

TPSSA welcomes Police Services Officer Joelle Kofdarali to the Tustin Police Department. PSO Kofdarali has a Bachelor's degree in Geography with a minor in Criminology from the California Polytechnic University and she has a Master's degree in Criminology from the University of California Irvine. She is currently training in the PSO/CSI unit and we are excited to have her join the team.

TPSSA would like to welcome our newest Police Communications Officer Carley Zamora. Prior to Carley being hired by the Tustin Police Department, she worked in the medical field as a phlebotomist. We are excited to have her join our department.

On Saturday, June 15, 2024 at approximately 9:36 p.m., Tustin Police Officers responded to a call of a possible robbery that just occurred at the Tustin Fields I residential community. On arrival, officers discovered the victim was a member of the U.S. Secret Service and his bag was stolen at gunpoint. During the incident an officer(agent) involved shooting occurred. The suspect(s) were not located and it is unknown at this time whether the suspect(s) were injured as a result of the incident. Officers have located some of the victim’s belongings in the area and the incident is still being investigated. There is no known threat to the public.

A 2004-2006 silver Infiniti FX35 or vehicle similar was seen leaving the scene. The suspect vehicle is pictured below.
