Tustin Police Officers Association

Tustin Police Officers Association The TPOA assists its officers with representation, acts as a liaison with the city, and promotes a positive relationship with city through its charitable work.

The Tustin Police Officers Association (TustinPOA/TPOA) was founded in 1972 and is comprised of over 78 members including police officers, sergeants, and lieutenants. Our primary objective is to increase positive interaction between our members and the citizens of our community, as such we created a 501c(3) - non profit called TPOAcares in 2016. The TPOA is funded largely by our membership dues, p

ersonal donations, and advertisers that sponsor TPOA events. The TPOA returns a significant portion of its funding to the community by sponsoring non-profit events, providing college scholarships to Tustin High School students, and donating to local charities. The TPOA coordinates activities and events throughout the year to promote a positive relationship with community and further our charitable goals.

The Baker to Vegas Relay is a 120 mile, 20 stage run with the purpose of supporting camaraderie, physical fitness, and unity among law enforcement personnel. The annual event honors fallen officers, promotes teamwork across agencies, and challenges participants to run through the Mojave Desert. It features over 10,000 runners and massive support crews. The race is often called the "Super Bowl of police competitions" and raises funds for participating teams and their support staff.

Each year, Tustin Buick GMC sponsors the Tustin Police Department by providing transportation for their team. We are proud supporters of local law enforcement and honored to be a small part of this very important event.

It’s getting down to the wire.

The Tustin Police Department is participating in the 40th Annual 2026 Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay race taking place in March. This race began in 1985 with 19 law enforcement teams participating and has grown to more than 200 teams participating in this year’s event. The run starts in the City of Baker, California, and goes non-stop ending in Las Vegas, Nevada approximately 24 hours later. The 120-mile race is broken down into stages, one runner per stage.

At this time, “Team Tustin”, is soliciting Cash/Check/Venmo donations that would be used for entrance fees, team party, and all the supplies that are necessary to participate in this event. All participants and support personnel are responsible for their own room and transportation plus any personal equipment they might need. In return for your donation, we would like to thank you by giving you recognition for your generosity. Every sponsor will have their name or business printed on the Team Tustin Follow vehicle for everyone at the event to see as Team Tustin’s sponsors.

We hope you can sponsor our team. Any donation is appreciated!

After years of loyal service, K9 Azzurri officially hangs up the leash. From tracking suspects to protecting our community, she served with courage, and unwavering dedication.

Congratulations to her former handler, Officer Barrett. Or should I say Sgt. Barrett on a well-deserved promotion.

K9 Azzurri will now be enjoying her well deserved retirement with Sgt. Barrett.

End of one chapter. Beginning of another.

Supporting the Matt Ward Exploring On Foundation means supporting the future of our profession, and that’s a mission worth celebrating. We showed up strong, swung big, and called it what it is: Code “Fore!”
