Water service has been restored. Water pressure is currently low but should continue to build as the system stabilizes.

If you experience little or no water pressure, please allow additional time for the system to fully recover. We appreciate your patience and understanding as operations return to normal.

Reported Storm Damage/ Trees Down and Utility Outage Reported Macon

Good evening,

The following storm-related impacts have been reported throughout the county/city and may be affecting travel and utility services. Crews are have been notified and assessments are ongoing.

Reported Roadway Obstructions and Utility Issues:

* County Road 49 – Power lines and tree down
* County Road 48 – Tree down
* County Road 18 – Tree down
* County Road 30 – Tree down
* County Road 79 – Tree down
* County Road 45 (Fort Davis end) – Tree down
* County Road 26 – Tree down
* County Road 2 (Fort Davis side) – Tree down
* County Road 53/Wire Road – Tree down
* Highway 80 East – Multiple locations with trees down
* Highway 29 South – Multiple locations with trees down
* Auburn Street near Warner Avenue – Tree down
* Scott Street/Bruce Street – Tree down
* Washington Avenue – Power line and tree outage

Please use caution when traveling in these areas and avoid any downed power lines. Additional reports may be received as assessments continue.

Update: Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 1 at 4:59PM CDT until June 1 at 5:45PM CDT by NWS Birmingham AL

Lee, AL; Macon, AL; Russell, AL

At 458 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 6 miles southwest of Hamilton to near Beauregard to
near Franklin, moving southeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Auburn, Phenix City, Opelika, Tuskegee, Notasulga, Hurtsboro, Smiths,
Milstead, Smiths Station, Shorter, Franklin, Beulah, Uchee, Beans
Mill, Lake Tuskegee, Auburn University, Tuskegee National Forest,
Beauregard, Davisville, and Bleecker.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

🚨 WATER OUTAGE NOTIFICATION 🚨
MACON COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY

The Macon County Water Authority has reported a water outage caused by a lightning strike, which is impacting water service in the following areas:

Affected Areas:
County Road 10
County Road 5
Renfroe Road
Lower Brownville
Upper Brownville
Washington Lane
County Road 79
Brooks Road
Camellia Lane
County Road 2 (Roba Area)

**Important Information**

Efforts to restore water service are currently underway; however, repairs have been delayed pending the arrival of specialized technicians to the affected area.

Residents are encouraged to:
✔ Store a sufficient supply of water for drinking, cooking, and sanitation needs.
✔ Limit non-essential water usage until service is restored.
✔ Monitor local announcements for updates regarding restoration efforts.

Progressive updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.

The Macon County Water Authority sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this service disruption has caused and appreciates your patience and understanding as crews work to restore service safely and as quickly as possible.

Montgomery; Macon; Bullock; Barbour

At 544 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Davisville to near Hardaway to Montgomery.
Movement was southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Montgomery, Union Springs, Midway, Meadville, Pike Road, Pine Level,
Aberfoil, Spring Hill, Auburn University In Montgomery, Dublin,
Franklin Field, Beans Crossroads, Guerryton, Shopton, Davisville,
Waugh, Liverpool, Alabama State University, Hardaway, and Eastdale
Mall.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
