Recently, the Macon County Extension Office held our Grassroots Meeting, bringing together community members, partners, and stakeholders to talk about the issues that matter most in our county.

• What are the most important issues or needs that should be addressed in Macon County?
• What types of programs, workshops, activities, or resources would help address those needs?
• What ideas are missing from these flyers that you think should be included?
• How would you rank the five Y.A.A.L.L. (Youth, Art, Ag, Leadership, & Lifestyle) areas from greatest to least importance for Macon County?

The attached flyers highlight many of the ideas and priorities that came directly from that conversation. 🌱

🌱🚜 PESTICIDE CLEAN DAY IS COMING - MACON COUNTY FARMERS & LANDOWNERS! 🚜🌱

Do you have old, unwanted, unusable, or unidentified agricultural pesticides sitting around your farm, barn, or property? Here’s an opportunity to dispose of them safely and at NO COST!

📅 Wednesday, November 4, 2026
📍 Macon County Area
💲 FREE Disposal - No Fees & No Questions Asked!

✅ Materials accepted include:
• Herbicides
• Insecticides
• Fungicides
• Rodenticides
• Defoliants
• Adjuvants & growth retardants
• Known or unidentified pesticide waste
• Other agricultural pesticide products

⚠️ REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!
Forms will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with the program limited to 52,000 pounds of unwanted products.

📌 Registration Deadline: Friday, October 30, 2026

🚛 Vehicle Limit: Maximum of 1,000 pounds per vehicle. Special arrangements may be available for larger quantities.

What an incredible day of health, wellness, education, preparedness, and community connection in Macon County!

The Macon County Health and Resource Day, held August 24, brought organizations and community members together to connect residents with valuable information, services, health resources, and tools to help individuals and families live healthier, safer, and more informed lives.
