Today we want to recognize our Information Operations Squadron Commander, Cadet Major Jaiden Turner, a graduating business accounting major, commissioning as an AFSC: 63A Acquisition Manager.

Throughout his time here at Detachment 015, Cadet Major Turner consistently brought energy, innovation, and a forward thinking mindset to everything he touched. Known for his ability to generate new ideas and turn them into action, and left a lasting mark. His leadership has not only driven results, but also inspired those around him to think bigger and lead with purpose. Detachment 015 is stronger because of his impact, and his legacy will continue to shape the cadets who follow in his footsteps.

I joined AFROTC with the promise that I could achieve my dreams through the program. That promise has held true as I commission this May. AFROTC has taken me to places I have never been and has put me in touch with people I would have never interacted with otherwise. Detachment 015 became a home away from home during my college career, with a family that I was readily accepted into. As I walk into this new phase of life, I will carry the lessons I have learned here forward and become the best officer, and person, I can be.

Tonight, we recognize Cadet Captain Alexandra Sinclair, a graduating Architecture senior from Lithonia, Georgia, commissioning as a 21A Aircraft Maintenance Officer. Her dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence have left a lasting impact on those around her. Through hard work and perseverance, she has set a strong example for the cadets under her. We are proud to celebrate her accomplishments and look forward to all she will achieve as she begins her career in the United States Air Force.

My journey in AFROTC has been challenging to say the least, and I’ve had to fight to earn my place every step of the way. As a 100, I saw the program as a way to make friends, and throughout that first year, I built strong relationships with the people around me, but over time, it grew into something much bigger than that. I started to see what my future could really look like and what I was working toward. I came into this program with no experience, learning everything from the ground up through consistency and effort, and after Field Training, my passion for both the program and cadet development is what kept me going. This program taught me the value of resilience, grit, and mental toughness by putting me in situations where I had to push through setbacks, pushbacks, pressure, and uncertainty. Through it all, I stayed committed and made an impact in every role I stepped into by leading and teaching through experience. I leave this program stronger than I ever could have imagined, knowing I poured everything I had into this detachment over the past five years and gave it my all the entire way through.

Today, we recognize Cadet Lt Col Jamarian Speights, a graduating Business Administration senior from Florida, commissioning as an 18X pilot. He is a leader who is always there for others, setting the standard through his dedication, reliability, and commitment to those around him. His leadership has made a lasting impact on the detachment, and his example will continue to inspire those who follow. We are proud to celebrate his accomplishments and wish him success as he begins his next chapter in the Air Force.

My AFROTC career began with a significant personal commitment: I cut my dreads of four years to walk onto the detachment as a freshman with zero military experience. I hit the ground running that first year, earning a spot at the Aim High Flight Academy, where I was one of only four out of ten students to successfully solo, eventually receiving the Distinguished Aviator award. Building on that momentum, I was honored to be named Mr. AFROTC during my sophomore year. I carried that standard through Field Training, where my flight earned Honor Flight distinction, and shortly after, I crossed into Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., immediately stepping into the role of Chapter President. Balancing fraternity leadership with my military goals has been a defining part of my college career. Now, as I prepare to graduate and commission, I am incredibly proud to have secured an RPA Pilot slot the ultimate reward for four years of discipline and dedication.

Today, we recognize Cadet Major Myah Mitchell as she commissions as a 12X Combat Systems Officer candidate. Her dedication, leadership, and commitment have left a lasting impact on our detachment. Through every challenge, she has carried herself with professionalism and purpose, setting the standard for those who follow.
As she takes this next step into the Air Force, we are confident she will continue to lead with strength and distinction. Congratulations, Cadet Major Mitchell, and thank you for the legacy you leave behind. Aim High!

My journey here at Det 015, I came in with no military background. I just knew I wanted to be an astronaut and that the Air Force could help me get there, so I figured the rest out as I went. What kept me going, beyond my career goals, were the people I came up with in this program from the very beginning, the ones I trained with, grew with, and built lasting bonds with, along with the POC who trained and developed me along the way. They made the hard days easier and the good moments even better. Through everything, I learned how to speak up, ask for help when needed, and take ownership of my role without trying to do everything on my own. I’m leaving here ready to become the best Combat Systems Officer I can be and continue building toward my goal of becoming an astronaut.

Today, we want to recognize our Inspector General, C/Lt Colonel Lavelle Francis. She not only cares about our program but also genuinely invests her time in improving the well being of the Cadet Wing. Her Leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to doing things the right way set the standard for everyone around her.

Thank you for leading with integrity and for always looking out for others.

My journey from freshman year to now has been a roller coaster, but I don’t regret it at all. My family that I’ve built here at Tuskegee and the future I dream for myself pushes me every day. “It’s when things seem worst, that you must not quit” is the ending of a poem that gets me through any tough day. In the coming years, I am looking forward to traveling the world and gaining new experiences that allow me to evolve and become a well-rounded individual. I love Det 015!

Today, we recognize one of Det 015’s, Cadet Major Bryan Black, commissioning as a 11X Pliot. He has alway stepped up and supporting others, he’s the kind of leader who doesn’t just give direction, but takes action. Whether it’s mentoring cadets, or helping those in need, he leads with purpose and conviction.
“One thing that keeps me going apart from my faith is something that my mentors told me. Finding a purpose and attaching that to a dream or a goal is something that’ll give you the grit to keep moving forward even when times become trying. Having a purpose and a good attitude is a combination which turns followers into leaders. Within the near future, I am looking to become an Air Force Pilot and become the best I can possibly be in anything I throw myself at.” (Bryan Black)

This week, we recognize one of Det 015’s standout leaders, our Deputy Wing Commander Ashton Pease-Smith, commissioning as a 12X Combat Systems Officer (CSO).
Known for always stepping up and supporting others, he’s the kind of leader who doesn’t just give direction, but takes action. Whether it’s mentoring cadets, organizing the wing, or helping those in need, he leads with consistency, humility, and purpose.
His mindset is captured best in his favorite quote:
“Think of the life you have lived until now as over and, as a dead man, see what’s left as a bonus and live it according to Nature. Love the hand that fate deals you and play it as your own, for what could be more fitting?” – Marcus Aurelius
As he prepares to take the next step into the Air Force, his impact on Det 015 will not be forgotten. The standard he set will continue to push others forward.
Aim High, and congratulations on everything you’ve accomplished.
